Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play!  This time around I’m playing along over at the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenges Group on Facebook!  Just join the group here, create something new that fits the challenge and add it to the Challenge Album!  The current challenge is Fall Florals!  Oooh!  Coffee and Flowers… almost as good as Coffee and my dogs!  Here is the inspiration photo:

And here’s how I was inspired:

I’ve finally turned the corner into Fall… even though here in the deserts of Arizona it is far from feeling like it.   But the colors that come along with Autumn cards just make me warm and fuzzy inside.  I was happy to get out my Coffee Cup Card dies to create this To Go Cup shaped card.  I ink blended some Distress Oxides in Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso (of course!) on the front and then splattered water and some gold and white glitter watercolors over the top.  (Do not ever doubt that this is Pumpkin Spice Coffee in this cup.)

Then I stamped, cut (with my Scan N Cut) and colored a bunch of flowers and leaves from the Zen Floral stamp set… this set is chock full of all different kinds of flowers and foliage and the die set is just as complete!  I chose the Scan N Cut this time though because I had multiples of each of the flowers I wanted and decided it would be faster to cut them all at once and worth hauling out some heavy equipment.  That pretty plaid with the gray was perfect .. I loved the gray in the inspiration photo and love how this plaid has both grays and browns in it.  I made my frame gray as well but decided to not make a shaker from it this time.

I just love the colors… and who’d have known that gold and gray and brown all make wonderful Fall backdrops together!

A little twine and some sequins and done!
