Good Morning Coffee Loving Cardmakers! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip! This week I pulled out some canvas and started watercoloring. I wanted a nice bright aqua sky against the sunshine of the morning…and a cuppa joe for a wake-up ritual!
To create my card, I pulled a favorite stamp set from my stash. Sweet n’ Sassy’s “Fill Me Up” clear stamp set. I cut a small piece of canvas that was already treated with gesso and then applied some aqua watercolor over it. I used a paint brush to blend the color and flicked some on to finish it off. Next, I machine stitched the canvas onto a piece of white cardstock to make it a bit more sturdy and then I stamped the sentiment and the steam onto the panel. After that, I flicked a bit of black ink and sparkle ink onto the inky panel.
A close-up of the canvas reveals that deelish watercolor effect. I frayed the edges of the canvas to give it a more finished look.
Stamping the cup on some bright pink/purple cardstock really made this card pop! I pulled that same color into the ink on the card base too. The final touch was to brush a bit of white acrylic paint over the card base panel to help tie the artsy bits together.
Thanks for hopping over to check out my card. I hope you have a fabulous week! See you next Sunday.
