Hello Coffee Lovers!!
It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #28 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #29 – Use Six Different Fibers. The four cards in the magazine use fibers in some amazing ways!! One creates a looped border with different ribbons. Another wrapped squares with different twines and ribbon. The other two cards made the fibers the star of the show, one with a hanging of different colored ribbon and the other filled the card with lots of different fibers, lace, ribbon and even a string of sequins!
For my card I used the 6 different fibers in a fairly clean and simple way! I found on my desk some aqua backers twine and aqua yarn. These were used to wrap up stamps I had purchased this past year which never made it in my ribbon drawer!
Then it was all about finding four more different fibers! I went with white floss and white twine, which looks identical in the picture! Oh, well! I also found some aqua colored ribbon and a gold metallic thread.
From my stash of pattern paper I found a pretty retro looking pattern that matched the aqua theme that I ended up with! 🙂 Then I added each fiber to the front of the card, securing them on the back of the panel.
Then I picked out Dare 2 Be Artzy Perfect Blend and stamped the coffee cup on white card stock. Then I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it and some sharp scissors to fussy cut it out.
Next, I used Wow Embossing Powder – Metallic Gold Rich to emboss the sentiment on the lower half of the card. I added the coffee cup with foam tape and then topped off the panel with a a few rhinestones for some sparkle.
Since I had the fibers secured on the back of the panel, I used foam tape to adhere the panel to a white card base.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to pull out and use some of those fibers I know are in your stash!!
Dana
