Hello Coffee Lovers!!
It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #28 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #28 – Use or Create a Butterfly. The challenge includes four cards in the magazine, three use butterfly stamps in some unique ways. One used a die cut and stamped the matching image inside the window. Another die cut a window and stamped tiny butterflies. A third card created a butterfly pattern paper and then stamped and cut out a flower. The last card created a butterfly from some mod shapes!
For my card I decided to do some watercolor stamping! I love how it turned out, I hated to cover it up so I kept everything else to a minimum!
I used the butterflies from Penny Black Butterfly Trio and Distress Ink Markers, coloring the small butterfly with three different colors, spritzing it and then stamping! I did this many times until I filled the panel with butterflies.
Next, I used Sugar Pea Designs Coffee Cup To Go Cup, cutting the cup and wrap from watercolor card stock. Then I did some watercolor smooching on the cup, and for the wrap I used Sweet Stamp Shop Cuppa Coffee stamp set.
From vellum I cut a stitched oval and adhered the coffee cup and wrap. Next I cut a scallop border from Kraft card stock. I adhered it to my panel of butterflies, then wrapped some twine around the panel to tie a bow. Last I adhered the vellum with the coffee cup and then added the panel to a white card base.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this gives you a few ideas for using butterflies in your card making!
