It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #26 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #26 – Use Duct Tape. Last time I skipped Challenge 26 and did Challenge 27 because I was out of duct tape. Well after a trip to the store I picked me up a spanking new roll of duct tape! In the magazine there are four cards featuring duct tape. One used blue duct tape and cut some waves into the tape. Another created rolled roses from gold duct tape. The others used the typical grey duct tape kind of like pattern paper with one creating bow duct tie!

At first I wasn’t sure what to do, how could I use duct tape differently. Then it came to, what would happen if I embossed it?? As I set down to create my card I wonder what would happen if I colored the grey duct tape? I picked out one of my Spectrum Noir Markers and gave it a try! And it worked pretty well!

Next, up was to try embossing my experiment, which also turned out nice!! Even though the ink is dry the pressure with the embossing folder moves the ink a little or a lot! I got a nice distress look in some areas!

So for my card I added three stripes of duct tape to a card stock panel, coloring each one a different color. After they dried I ran it through my die cutting machine between an embossing folder. The ink did transfer to the folder, which I cleaned with some Staz On clear I have, so be aware before you try this at home!!

Then I pulled out Newton Loves Coffee from Newton’s Nook Stamps. I stamped two of the images together with a birthday sentiment and then colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers.

Next, I trimmed the image down to a rectangle. I also cut a strip of black card stock. After I adhered the duck tape panel to a card base I added the black strip. On top of that I added the colored image with foam tape.
