Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play!  This time around I’m playing along with the current Inspiration Challenge over at the Altenew Blog.  Here is the inspiration photo:

And here’s how I was inspired:

Of course… the colors… with me it’s almost always the colors… but then I also picked up on the organize theme of the flower.  I started by heat embossing the lights strings from the Be Strong Stamp Set onto a panel of Canson watercolor paper with Wow Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder.  Then I brushed on various pinks from my Paul Rubens Glitter Watercolors and added orange over the lightbulbs..but not too neat… well.. not neat at all…lol… to give the feeling of a glow of sorts.  I don’t know if I accomplished that, but I love the way it turned out.  Finally, I splattered on some pinks, orange and gold.

Then I stamped the cacti from the Be Strong set and some coffee images from the quite awesome Coffee Love Stamp Set, colored them with my Copics and cut them out.  I added them to my base using various thicknesses of foam tape and then added a little more of the dark pink underneath to ground them.

And I chose this sentiment from the Coffee Love set because I thought this felt like some friends got together in the evening for coffee and conversation.  I decided to give the sentiment the same treatment as the background so it would kind of “blend” in… see what I did there?  Badoom-Cha!  And don’t you just love the shimmer of those watercolors?  #Gracielliemademebuythem !
