Hello Coffee & Tea Lovers!!
It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #27 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #27 – Use an Item From the Garage. You might have noticed I skipped Challenge #26, but its only temporary. That challenge is to use duck tape, which we are apparently out of. So the next trip to the grocery store will include a trip to the home improvement department! The magazine features four cards and the designers were very creative! One used sandpaper as the sand for a beach scene. The others used some great hardware including screws, washers and a nut!
I headed to the garage and looked around trying to find something to use on my card! It took me a little bit to find something but I found some Mesh Tape! According to the packaging its to help with dry wall projects. The ‘tape’ is a mesh, plastic and yellow!!! The back is also has an adhesive, but not permanent as it comes right up off card stock.
I cut a white panel and added 4 strips of the mesh. To help keep the mesh in place I used white thread and did a little running stitching along the top and bottom. Then I thought the background needed something more, so I pulled out my Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Orange Blush. I applied it like a stencil, but worked it in here and there, then just let it dry.
Meanwhile I pulled out Dare 2B Artzy stamps. I stamped the coffee cup from Perfect Blend on white card stock and again on orange card stock. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Hug in a Mug set. I fussy cut out the orange coffee wrap and then adhered it to the stamped white cup after fussy cutting that out too.
I trimmed the sentiment down to t rectangle and then added it and the coffee cup to the panel with foam tape. Then I just adhered the panel to white card base.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hopefully you will look at your garage items in a new way!!
Dana
