Hello and Happy Fourth of July Coffee Lovers!!!
It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #25 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #25 – Make an Entirely White Card. The magazine features four cards, and when they say white they mean it!! Only two cards have a black sentiment with white die cuts, white cardstock. Two other cards are all white, with white pattern paper, die cuts and embellishments. One used an electric cutting machine to curate their sentiment, all in white of course!
I didn’t go quite so literal, especially because so much white is hard to photograph!! I started my card by die cutting a stitched rectangle from white card stock. Then I created a little scene with Waffle Flowers Bear & Bird set. On scrap card stock I stamped the coffee cup, hat, flower and banner. I stamped everything in a light grey ink. The thank you sentiment I did stamp in a very dark grey.
Then I used my Spectrum Noir Brown Grey Blend Tri-Blend marker to color all the images. Since I needed to keep it as white as possible I went with a monochromatic theme. This marker matched best to the grey ink I used.
After coloring, I fussy cut the coffee mug, hat and flower. Then I cut around the bears hands and placed the coffee cup behind one of them. I also adhered the hat and flower.
From my stash I found some Crafter’s Companion Foiled Card Pad that technically is a winter pattern pad. But there were a couple stripe patterns and I picked out the horizontal one. It looks grey in the photo, but the stripes are foiled in a white and shine nice in person! (told you photographing so much white is hard!!!)
To finish the card I added the colored panel to the stripe paper and then finally adhered it to, you guessed it, a white card base!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Dana
