Hello there coffee loving friends! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip! This week, I was inspired by a little Google Doodle! Do you get inspired by them too? The Google Doodle for Saturday, June 15 was full of color and memories. It just made me want to pull out my inks, coffee and stamps and get stamping!
When I was younger, I loved attending the Folklife Festival in Washington DC. Every year, they invited and featured many cultures and nations from around the year. One year, they featured Native American tribes from around the USA. I spent days and days learning, visiting and enjoying the traditions of these cultures and spent time enjoying hands-on exposure to so many beautiful art pieces and traditional handcrafts. On the final day of the event, they held a PowWow and invited everyone to observe and enjoy. So with a cup of hot coffee in hand, I watched dances, listened to chants, enjoyed traditional music, ate tasty homemade food and relaxed amongst many other visitors. I particularly loved watching the women in their Jingle Dresses as they danced and shared the beauty of dance…So fabulous. So this photo really brought back those memories. The colors in this Google Doodle are what inspired my card today. 🙂
I selected a couple products from SugarPea Designs. I pulled out my oldie but goodie stamp set called Talk is Chic. I also used the SugarCut die called Coffee To Go Cup
Before diecutting the cup, I spread some lavender ink onto my Gelli Plate and lifted it off onto some white cardstock. It gave it a fun pattern. After diecutting the cup, sleeve and lid, I stamped the sleeve with the XO sentiment and then added a few hearts. Next, I created a background layer with a swipe of lime green ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the kiss marks using that same bright red pucker-up red ink. I also added a bit of gold polka-dot washi tape to the edge of the cup.
So as you can see, I created quite a fun little CAS card. Not my usual but fun nonetheless! 🙂 Hope you have a fabulous week!
