Hello Coffee Lovers!!
It’s time for a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #19 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #19 – Make Your Own Embellishment with Decorative Tape. One card in the magazine used decorative tape (or washi tape) to create an elegant flat bow. Another card used the tape to decorate a binder and paper clips. Two other cards made flags on toothpicks and made a banner with flags.
I’ve made flags and created a banner before, so this time I wanted to do something totally different. After a few days it came to me!! I did experiment first to make sure it would work and I was pleasantly surprised that it did!!
So I picked out a few different washi tape colors, added some liquid adhesive to wood veneer and placed the washi on top. Then I set some clear blocks on top and let the glue dry. When they were dry I used sharp scissors and cut along the edge of the wood veneer. It turned out so well I went a head and did a few more arrows and circles.
While the next batch was drying I pulled out Reverse Confetti’s Caffeinated Cups stamp set and stamped the big cup with brown ink. I also used Echo Park’s But First Coffee stamp set for the sentiment. I fussy cut them both out.
Next, I adhered the washi tape covered wood veneer to a white card base. I also added a strip of purple striped washi tape. Then I added the coffee cup and sentiment with foam tape.
I hope this inspires you to use your washi tape in a new way!! Thanks for stopping by!
