Design Team Close Up – Helen Gullett

Hello coffee/tea/cocoa loving friends… We’re starting a new feature to spotlight the design team over the next couple of months.  We’ve had an increase in the amount of our caffeinated friends that have joined the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Facebook Group so we thought it was a good time to do some updated introductions!

Today, it’s my turn to share a little bit about me… I was born and grew up in Indonesia. Now, I live in Ohio since 2008. I am married to my best friend and a stay-at-home mom of 2 daughters. As family, we love camping, hiking, and going to lakes and beaches.

From home, I do some volunteer works as a translator to couple non-profit organizations.

During my free time, I spend time in my craft room. I started my crafting hobby when I was at elementary school learning hand-stitching and embroidery and more learning more papercrafting and journaling when I was in middle school. I took a long break when I was at collage. And then, I got back with scrapbooking in 2008, card-making in 2010, Bible Journaling in later in 2014, and got into mixed media and wood-burning in 2016.

I found out about our coffee loving community in 2015 and joined the blog hops ever since. When Amy had an open slot for a design team in 2016, I applied and joined the team. I write once a month on Thursday for the Thursday Coffee Break and I also help Amy with Instagram posts at @coffee_crafts

I found so many crafty friends, learn and grow in my crafting skill through this team and community, too! So many talented crafters!!!

Here are some of my coffee/tea/cocoa themed cards that I created since 2015…

I love learning and exploring new techniques from lots of other amazing crafters from YouTube, also from Splitcoaststampers Forum and Stamp Nation Forum.

I like to drink coffee or tea, plus eating dark chocolate, cherry, and cashew bars when I sit to make projects. And also, these Top 3 favorite crafting tools:

Friends… here’s a card that I created for you all today! So… I am currently in love with bubble tea… and really wanting to try the coffee/mocha bubble tea when I have a chance to go to mall 😀

I use the Bubbly Feels digital stamp set and Birthday Party digital papers from Graciellie Design.

I printed the cup on a mixed media paper with inkjet printer, cut it with my Silhouette Cameo 3, and then colored it with Sakura Koi Watercolor Paints.

For the sentiment, I printed it on a white cardstock with laser printer, added the DecoFoil Rainbow Foil Sheet on it, and run in through my laminating machine. I die cut it with one of the Fancy Dies from Craftin’ Desert Divas.

So nice to “meet” you Helen! I loved reading about your creative journey- it was so nice to hear about your doing embroidery and papercrafting at a young age and then eventually doing it again as an adult! Love your creations!
