Design Team Close Up – Laurel Seabrook

Hi everyone, I am Laurel Seabrook. I have been crafting all of my life as my mom always did something with us. As for the stamping/scrapbooking/papercrafting… that started about 20 years ago! My mom wanted to take me to this little shop (a home based one) that carried stamps and such. I really wasn’t interested (I liked sewing at the time) but went because my mom wanted me to…. the rest as they say is history! LOL I fell in love with what could be created with stamps and paper.

I went back home (I lived out of town) and began buying some (well, lots) of stuff – that was even before online shopping was really a thing – via this little shop. I was hooked.

We moved back to our home town about 16 years ago and I started selling CTMH and then my paper crafting really began to grow. I loved it and my sewing took a back seat.

The next major turning point was blogging. I began blogging and that changed the course of my crafting. I learned about online shopping (lol) and being published, design teams etc. I was very blessed in the crafting industry both with publications and design team work.

I now have cut way back on what I do and really just craft for me… but still love it!

If I was to describe my style it would have to be I like lots of layers but not a lot of ‘doo dads’ if that makes sense. Layers, stitching and staples.

Here are some of my favorite projects:

Now I made a new card for today that is quite far from my normal style but it captures me in other ways 😉

I love tea and the color pink…

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you have enjoyed learning a little about me. Stay tuned for more inspiration challenges coming this way.

Have a great weekend.

haha My Mom got me hooked, too. At least to crafting as she didn’t make cards. She taught me to cross stitch when I was about 21 and it just evolved from there. It was nice to read your story and to see your pretty cards!

Hi, We are a coffee roaster and I really like your stuff. Been thinking that maybe there is a way to custom craft some cards, posters, lables etc. for our use. Thinking maybe a label desing or some add-on item we can send with our shipment (a thank you or a card etc.).

Just throwing some ideas and would like to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks, Norm
