Hello there coffee loving papercrafters! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip! Today, I’m sharing a card I was thinking about all the while I was driving back from a visit at the American Craft Council in Baltimore on Saturday. My mission was to add another beautiful mug to my pottery collection and I did just that! All the while I was driving back home (an hour and a half drive), I was thinking about coffee… Yep, I was thinking about coffee, even smelling it in my mind! Have you ever had such an experience? Well, I did and then I started thinking about how I could use some instant coffee to make a yummy background…So I started making the card in my mind, while driving, in the rain. HA HA!
When I got home, I headed to my cupboard and grabbed the instant coffee that I use for my chocolate baking dishes. I really don’t drink that stuff but it works great when wanting to give chocolate a richer flavor. Anyway, I brought the bottle of dark Nescafe down to my workspace and sprinkled a bit onto some paper. I spritzed some water on the paper and let the grains bloom…
After I was satisfied with my background, I selected the perfect Pinkfresh stamp set called Bird With Flowers to give my card a happy little personality!
I also colored the bird, leaves and flowers with Copic markers and added some hand-cut scalloped paper to the card for added playful look.
A little natural feather and a sweet sentiment finished the card off. Hope you enjoyed this project. If you did, you might be interested in playing along with our sketch this week. Take a peek!
