Caffeine Fueled Paper Play-Paper Smooches!

Welcome to this week’s Caffeine Fueled Paper Play!  Today I’m playing along at the current challenge over at Super Sponsor Paper Smooches Blog and the theme is hearts:

And here’s how I was inspired:

Did you know that Kim from Paper Smooches also has a Brick & Mortar called Our Creative Escape in Goodyear Arizona?  It’s a wonderful bright and beautiful studio full of inspiration where you can go to drink wine and paint… or not drink wine and paint… or take a card class… or a jewelry class.. or even shop!  Recently, Kim hosted a coloring class led by the very talented Nicolette from Stella Rue Studios and the jar with flowers from the Best Buds Stamp Set was one of the images we colored that day!  Nic makes beautiful card kits and the kit comes with the image(s) to color which she does with us that day including Copic techniques and tips and all of the pieces you need to re-create her masterpieces at home…which are gorgeous!  But I have a hard time making the exact card as anyone else, so I tend to add my images to my own card design and save all of her wonderful papers and cuts for later.  But it’s totally up to the maker!  You can create your card exactly as the kit shows or not!

I have the Best Buds stamp set at home, so it was easy for me to color the extra flower to add to my card.  I used a paper pad I bought at Our Creative Escape from American Crafts by Amy Tangerine called Better Together and thought the background paper was perfect for a card to send to a friend that lives far away that I wish I could grab a cup of coffee with and chat for a while… face to face.  Note the cute little hearts all over the paper too!  I cut that layer using one of my favorite layering die sets from Reverse Confetti, the Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cuts and the tag was cut from another print in the paper pad using the Paper Smooches Gift Tags 2 Dies.

I added this pretty cup from the Cyber Cafe Stamp Set which is a must have for any Coffee Loving Papercrafter!  I created my steam using the Tiny Hearts Dies and a few sequins.

And finally this sweet and simple sentiment from the Fun & Flirty Stamp set which has a whole bunch of fun sentiments on it in various fonts… one of my faves for sure!  And I must not forget to mention that cute bow!  That’s from the Bows Dies… an adorable collection of various shapes of paper bows!

So that’s it for me today!  Hope you enjoyed your stop here and I hope you’ll play along over at Paper Smooches Hearts Challenge!  You have until February 25th at 11:59 pm Pacific Time to play along!  You must use at least one Paper Smooches product on your creation and there are even some free digis here to make it easy for you if you don’t own any yet!  And the theme is hearts… so have one heart or many… but have a heart!!   You could win one of three $15 Paper Smooches gift certificates!  I hope to see you there!

And if you have a chance to visit Our Creative Escape, be sure you do that too!  There is going to be another coloring class in March with Nic and I’m just waiting for my chance to sign up!  Hope to see you there too!  You can check out the calendar of scheduled classes for the next few weeks here!

Awesome card Lisa!! I love the heart steam, and the colors you used too (I don’t use orangy/reds or yellows very much)
Thanks for the link to the bows 😉
