February 15 – Guest Designer

Esther is back with us again with not one, but two amazing projects:

Hello Friends, I’m back for week number three as a guest designer here on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog.

It’s been so much fun to share my work with you this month…Thanks Amy for asking me!

Today I have not one, but two cards to show you. Both are a little more on the fun side and use clip art from an Etsy store called Digital Artsi.

Pre-colored clip art makes creating bright and cheerful cards a cinch, and it’s especially helpful to those of us who are amateurs at coloring!

For this first card I used a digital clip art set called Kawaii Breakfast. Here’s how I put this card together…..

First I stamped the Large Background: Scattered Polk-a-dots stamp (Uniko) in Broken China Distress Oxide (Ranger) on white card stock.

I die cut my stamped piece with the Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and inked the edges before removing it from the die.

I then matted the circle on a piece of black card stock cut with the Large Scallop Nestabilities (Spellbinders).

Next, I cut a strip of black and white polk-a-dot designer paper and added a punched border (3 Dot Punch – Martha Stewart) underneath.

I printed my clip art on Canson Watercolor paper and fussy cut each one before arranging them across the bottom of my card.

To finish off my card, I stamped two sentiments from the Reverse Confetti Figure of Speech in Tuxedo Black Ink (Tsukineko) using my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to get a good ink coverage.

For my next card I used clip art images from the Watercolor Coffee set.

For this card I embossed a piece of kraft card stock with the 3D Lumber Embossing Folder (Sizzix – Tim Holtz), and inked it with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, and Ground Espresso Distress Ink (Ranger).

I lightly spritzed my panel with water and heat set.

Using the Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), I die cut an opening towards the top.

Inside I placed a piece of  Canson Watercolor paper sponged with Salty Ocean and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide (Ranger).

I die cut Birch Trees from Impression Obsession and added them inside my circle.

I matted my card panel on black card stock and glued it to my card front.

Next, I printed some images from the clip art set on Canson Watercolor paper, fussy cut them, and added some faux stitching lines around the edges with a brown Sharpie marker.

For added dimension, I printed an second tiny coffee cup and popped it up in the foxes paws with a piece of foam mounting tape.

I added a bit of greenery across the bottom using the Small Grass Border (Impression Obsession).

Since I had that faux wood piece left from my die cut front, I decided to finish the inside of this card.

I matted my circle on a black piece of card stock cut with the Large Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), and added some more clip art images.

To finish things off, I stamped a sentiment from the Mason Jar (Paper Sweeties) set in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger).

Love both of Esther’s projects, don’t you? For more inspiration please follow her blog + instagram.
