Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! Today I’m playing along with a mini challenge over at the Unity Show & Tell Facebook Group. It’s All About the Background! Use one of the cool Unity background stamps or create your own with some smaller Unity stamps! You can find some details and a tutorial on the blog here and then hop on over and join the group (if you’re not already in there) to play along! This is a mini challenge and you have until tomorrow, February 7th to play along! But there are cool challenges in this group all of the time so if you can’t play along this time, join the group and play along with the next one! Here’s how I was inspired:
Have you seen the beautiful Brutus Monroe background stamps that Unity Stamp Co carries now? You can check them all out here including the Hit The Brick stamp I used for this background. In fact right now I just saw a couple more I think I need…lol! I’m hoping I didn’t cover too much of it up with the stamp I used, but I love the Things To Do: Dream, Wish, Etc stamp set and once I had this idea, I needed to use it!
I started by cutting out the white panel using the largest of the Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Rectangle Dies. Then I stamped the Hit The Brick stamp over it using Versamark and embossed using sprinkles of Wow City of Angels and Opaque Bright White embossing powders. When I got done with that, I splattered some Paul Rubens Glitter Watercolor over it… just a little because I didn’t want to hide the beautiful brick!
Next I die cut a kraft rectangle big enough for the Things to Do Stamp. I used washi tape to mask off the “Things To Do” and the first item on the list because I knew my checklist would include Coffee first! I inked it up with Versamark; peeled away the washi; and stamped onto the kraft panel. Then I stamped just the Things To Do on a small Lagoon colored rectangle die so that I could move it up a bit and leave enough room for a glittery coffee die cut using the die that is in the A Jillian Vance Design Coffee Tea & Me Die set…. it was just the right size! And the “X” from a PTI alpha set I have was perfect to check that box!
And did you know that Unity Stamp Co collaborates with quite a few of your favorite stamp companies… like Gina K Designs and Graciellie Designs?? I thought it befitting to decorate using stamps from both of these wonderful ladies. The flowers are from the Gina K You make Me Smile stamp set available at her website and the beautiful coffee cup is from a Graciellie Design digital set you can find here, but you can get this one at Unity in red rubber cling also here! I printed my digi at a small size to fit on this card (one of the benefits of digital), but if you prefer a physical stamp, the Unity set is bigger and it’s beautiful!
And that’s me for today! I’m hoping to do all of these things today and some of them I may be doing while you’re reading this! I hope you’ll head on over to the Unity Show & Tell Group on Facebook and join… maybe even play along! If not, you’ll get all kinds of beautiful inspiration so you should check it out for sure!
Thanks for stopping!
