Welcome to another Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! Today I’m playing along with a challenge over at the Honeybee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenges Group on Facebook! You can go here and request to join if you’d like to play along or even if you’d love to get some awesome inspiration! There is lots of good stuff over there! Here is the challenge… perfect, right??:
And here’s how I was inspired:
Well, of course snowmen love coffee and of course they would live inside a huge yummy Frappe!! Wouldn’t you if you could? I started with some pretty cloud background paper and cut the background layer using the Waffle Flower Lacy Layers 5×7 die set… I used the biggest – this is a 5×7 card. Next I cut my snowdrifts using the CDD Stitched Scallop Dies (they make great clouds and wonderful snowdrifts! I cut them from some white glitter paper … because it’s snow, Silly! Next I cut my Frappe House using the Honey Bee Stamps Frappe Shake Card Honey Cuts… oh my… this is quite an awesome die set and you should see some of the beautiful creations that have been made with it.. Google it… you’ll see! The die cuts the bottom layer as a card. I cut mine in half and just used it as my house on another card. It’s about the size of an A2 card hence my 5×7 creation! The whipped cream is of course from glitter paper, the top is from acetate and the base layer I cut from wood grain… um… cause it’s a house….
Of course I needed a door for my house… so I grabbed a couple rectangles from my stash and cut the smaller one in four pieces to serve as my door panels and used a white acrylic dot from my stash as a handle. And then the snowman and those adorable critters… they are from the Snow Buddies Stamp Set and Honeycuts! Aren’t they just the cutest??? I stamped and die cut them and then colored them. This is just the most complete and utterly adorable stamp and die set I’ve ever used!! There are three snow people with lots of fun accessories and friends!
Here’s how I got lucky! I cut the bottom layer for the top of the Frappe cup from the cloud paper, because my thinking was…you’d see through that clear lid (roof)… but wasn’t thinking about lining up the clouds on the paper behind it when I did that… luckily with the remainder of the paper I was able to line them up and then place 5×7 my die over and washi tape it into place so it would fit perfectly and look like it was see through! Then I cut that Hugs die three times.. once from turquoise glitter paper and twice from white cardstock so I could stack them to give some more dimension. A few pretty Lawn Fawn Snowflakes and some sequins from my LSS later and I was done!
So there you go! I’d buy that house!! I hope you’ll join me over at the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenges challenge and play along too! The $15 prize gift code to the Honey Bee Shop is randomly drawn. You have until January 31st to play along with this challenge. Just make Honey Bee products the focus of your creation and add it to the album in the group! But you have to join first… so what are you waiting for??
I’m also playing along over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge with a Twist of Layers!
