Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Welcome to the first Caffeine Fueled Paper Play for 2019!  It’s often hard to find a challenge to play along with for this first post of the month…let alone the year… especially if it’s really early in the month.  Many challenges are finished and the new ones haven’t started yet… or at least when I need to create my project.  So I was excited when I saw that Joy Clair’s current challenge is a December-January Challenge!  And extra excited when I saw this gorgeous inspiration photo:

That’s some beauty, right??  And here’s how I was inspired:

I loved all of the white in the photo but then those beautiful yellow… or in my eyes gold..accents!  The knit mittens… of course that beautiful cup of hot beverage..and the lovely wintery scenes.  I was also itching to ink up some new Joy Clair sets I recently purchased and wanted to use during the hop, but didn’t get the chance.  For instance… that beautiful “Ugly” Sweater Background Builder…  love the size of it and the pretty patterns!

I’ve had the Coffee Lovers stamp set for a while now and this cup was just the right size.  Me being me, I’ve temporarily misplaced the little heart that goes with this cup, but got lucky that one of my cohorts at a crop had the perfect heart for me to substitute… a little bigger, but it worked out great!  I used some beautiful Wow Metallic Gold Rich Pale Super Fine embossing powder to stamp and heat emboss the background, the cup, the heart and the sentiment.  I added some coffee using a Gold Prisma Color Pencil and added liquid glass over the heart and coffee.

At the same time that I purchased the Ugly Sweater set, I also picked up the gorgeous 3D Christmas Poinsettia stamp set.  I stamped all of the poinsettias in the set onto white cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed using Wow Opaque Bright White powder.  Then I blended on some Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink over the top and wiped over the top with a damp paper towel so whiten up the embossed part again.   I cut them all out and layered them using Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares.   Finally, I splattered some Heidi Swap Gold Color Shine all over the background and poinsettias with a paint brush and added those pretty gold gems to the centers of the flowers.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the 3D Christmas Poinsettia set, fussy cut it out and popped it up over the stitched circle and arranged all of my other elements around it until I was happy.  Then a few sequins from the Paper Sweeties Latte Coffee Sequin Mix and I was done!
