Monday, ugh, my least favorite day of the work week. I really only get out of bed for ya’ll! 😉
So are you enjoying the coffee hop? I hope so! I sure am. I have two cards for you today, it is gonna be a Hipster Holiday.
Our grand PNW is full of hipsters, especially in Seattle. Perhaps they originated here, I don’t know. Perhaps it is Grunge 2.0 in the post Kurt Cobain era? I have no idea, but making these cards felt right at home to me.
Obviously I made two versions of this card. I like to represent diversity in my card making. I haven’t seen Santa myself, so who knows what he really looks like. But I KNOW if he is a hipster like this guy, he drinks coffee.
This hipster Santa is from Darcie’s Stamps. I stamped both with my Momento ink and colored them with my Copics and cut them out using my Scan n’ Cut. I colored them very similarly with a few differences that you will notice when you see the second one. Obviously skin color, but there are a few other differences too. In my Hipster Santa vision, he isn’t totally red and green, just kinda, whatever… bold prints and easy colors, hence the patterned papers. I used a couple different reds for my bases. Both the DP and the CS behind were cut using dies from Super Sponsor Gina Marie. I wanted to bring in some brighter reds with the ribbon. The sentiment is stamped on a tag and brushed with Delecata Gold ink.
You’ll see here some slightly different coloring on a few items and different papers. I wish I had more of the first paper, because I think it stands out more. Because this paper wasn’t’ quite as bright in the whites, I decided to add a little sparkle. You’ll notice Santa’s Magical dust on his bag and in the air. This was done with embellishments from Super Sponsor Trinity Stamps.
I love these guys, I think they are pretty cool dudes. The coffee proves that!
I hope that you find some time to ink up some stamps and join us for the blog hop. You can find all the details here.
