Caffeine Fueled Paper Play – Stamplorations!

Welcome to another Caffeine Fueled Paper Play!  Today I’m playing along over at Super Sponsor Stamplorations place!  Shery has tons of fun stuff over there and I wanted to have a play with something new I just got!  I’m playing along with the Cutplorations Challenge which is Give Thanks!  Here’s the inspiration:

And here’s how I was inspired:

So, this Zen Coffee Cup Layering Die set… right??  I purchased this one as soon as I saw it! The set is awesome… with one solid cup and three layering dies… well… why don’t I just show you??

SO cool, right??  I knew I wanted to use this set… so away I went!

I started by cutting my base using the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies (lol!  Everytime I say that I then say in my head.. Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man.. one of my faves… the dies… and those tube men!)  Knowing I wanted to use some beautiful autumn colors like in the photo,  I blended my background with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.  Then I used the Weaving stencil and sponged some extra of the Spiced Marmalade through that.  I splattered some Tea and Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine on top (I splatter more than I spray with that stuff lately and I love it!!) and set it aside to dry.

I cut my cup base from kraft.. I thought I might let some of it show through, but in the end I cut it a second time in kraft, once in that beautiful green, and once from another ink blended piece.  You’ll want to keep track of all of your pieces … I mean… I was a little careless with mine and just had to strategically cut some extra areas here and there.  I was very careful with the green cut and tried to keep as much of it together as I could for the leaves and a few other areas.  I added my adhesive right across the back and even the open spaces knowing that I’d fill them in and the extra adhesive would be covered and maybe even help!  I attached that to the Kraft base and then I carefully pieced in all of the other areas.  It took a little time but SO worth it!  As I pieced together the rest of my puzzle, I glued in the pieces with some liquid glass.  Once it was together, I figured out where my steam would go and then used the Coffee Cup Stencil to add some gold embossing paste for just the steam and when that was dry… kind of… used some popup tape and added my cup.

Next I cut the Thanks A Latte sentiment out of green glitter paper using one of the awesome word/phrase dies over at Stamplorations.. um… and did you know today (Wednesday the 21st) only they are all on sale!?  More on that later.  I added some Prima leaves in both corners, a fishtail banner as a base for my sentiment at the top and then glued on my sentiment.  A few sequins and it was finished!   One more peek!

So!  Here’s the skinny!  Stamplorations has TONS of challenges each month each with a chance to win free stuff!!  The main blog is here!  You’ll find links to each of the challenges!  I’m playing along with the Cutplorations Challenge here!  I’m also linking up to the Mixed Media Challenge here which is Anything Mixed Media and the Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge here…. yup… it’s never ending and anything goes.  Anytime you create something using Stamplorations products you can link up!  You can use other companies’ products along with, but Stamplorations should be the focus.  I suggest you head over to the blog and peruse the challenges and the rules for each and play along with one or more!  There is even a free digi for you to play along if you follow the link for the Never Ending Challenge!  It’s a beauty.  Oh.. and I mentioned this before:

Check out today’s sale!  50% off Cutplorations Word Dies!!!  And you’ll find plenty of coffee words for sure!

And then there’s also this going on:

And did you know that a couple of my teamies are on the Design Team over there at Stamplorations… because they are awesome!  So feel free to use these as well!  Pick a Stamp Girl:

AND there’s this going on (it started on the 12th and goes through the end of the month):

I don’t know about you all… but I’m going to be spending some time over there today, tomorrow, Friday…. I think with all of these different discounts we’ve just about got you covered to save a little and get some cool stuff!

That’s it for me today!  Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday!  I am planning on it.  Oh!  One more thing!!  Don’t you dare forget about this:
