Brew & Craft Your Stash – Use A Yard of Ribbon

Hello Coffee lovers!!

It’s time for a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #8 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #8 – Use A Yard of Ribbon. The magazine has four cards and two of them wrap ribbon around a panel. One has very wide ribbon the other thin. Another card did a messy pleats of blue ribbon, so it could be the ocean for a whale! The last card adhered strips of printed ribbon, trimming it off at the panel’s edge.

I originally wanted to try stitching with ribbon, but when I sat down to do it, realized the size of my ribbon was too large and I would have really big holes!! So instead I decided to wrap the ribbon around a panel. I trimmed the panel first at the top to make a hill. It took more then a yard to cover the panel, I just adhered the two end pieces behind the panel, then added another row above, slightly overlapping. I used a mix of double sided adhesive and liquid glue to make sure the ribbon would stay in place.

Next, I made a card from light blue card stock and used Honey Bee Stamps Flakey Friends to do some stamping and coloring. I used the snow cluster to stamp and heat emboss some snowflakes.

Then I stamped the bear and snowman, along with some winter accessories and coffee, of course. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color everything, then I fussy cut out all the images. I added the hat, scarf and coffee to the bear, then adhered him to the sled. The snowman got a bow and an orange coffee cup.

Before I added my snowy friends I used The Greetings Farm Perk Up stamp set for the sentiment. I thought the Let’s Catch Up sentiment was perfect for my winter pals and all that was left to was add them to the card!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope this encourages you to break out some ribbon and use as much as you can!!
