Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! This time around I’m playing along with the November Challenge over at Super Sponsor Joy Clair’s Blog! (Thanks to Amy for bringing it to our attention! The photo is so beautiful I knew right away I wanted to play along…just look at it:
Gorgeous, right?? And here’s how I was inspired:
I started with my background… I used a beautiful poinsettia stencil that I won from StencilGirl when I participated in the Mini Album Makers Challenge a few months ago. I used it to add some Nuvo Glitter Paste in red. Then I splattered some Heidi Swapp color shine over the top and set it aside to dry. Once it was dry, I cut the panel out using the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies at Kat Scrappiness… these are lately one of my most used dies.
Next I stamped this awesome cup from the Joy Clair Coffee Lovers Stamp Set. I decided to color it red…like the cup in the photo… but red Copics… oh .. they don’t like to be controlled…lol! But it all worked out so I left the red part plain as can be because I like looking at it..lol! It’s like… kaboom! RED! I stamped the center part of the cup onto some snowflake paper and fussy cut it to paper piece over the wrap part.
Oh! And see the pretty gold snowflakes?? I won those from Super Sponsor Scrapbook Adhesives! Those cool snowflakes are from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit! The kit includes some foil. The shapes are sticky on both sides… you take the shape off of the sheet; stick it where you want it; remove the top paper to expose the sticky on top; place the foil shiny side up onto the shape and rub your finger gently over the top… the foil sticks to the shape and IS SO COOL! Now… the foil does come out shiny… a few things… don’t scratch it to attach it… you don’t need to and you’ll get some scratchy looking foil (unless that’s what you want!) Also, I thought I had a fantastic idea because I wasn’t sure yet where I wanted the shapes so I took them off the sheet, stuck them to my non-stick mat and foiled them. When I removed them from the sheet to place them on my project, because the shape is soft it bends a bit as you lift it off and the shiny turned a little textured! But you know what??? I LOVE it!!! Love the look… BUT if you want yours to stay shiny, add them to your project first and then rub the foil on gently. These are VERY cool! I used lots of Scrapbook Adhesives products putting this card together… including the wonderful E-Z Runner Grand and lots of popup foam. Thank you so much to the wonderful folks over at Scrapbook Adhesives because a lot of these things were part my wonderful prize!
And of course the theme of food and drink… and those cookies in the inspiration photo… I ran right to my handy dandy box of Paper Smooches dies because I knew I had the Holiday Sweets dies from Paper Smooches… very cute and just what the doctor ordered… see how I decorated mine like in the photo??
And then came the sentiment! I don’t have any Christmas stamps from Joy Clair yet, but I was able to create my sentiment using the Sending You A Whole and Latte stamps from the Coffee Lovers Stamp Set and then the Fa La La on the cup is from Paper Smooches Holiday Cheer Set... perfect! Sending You A Whole Latte Fa La La! And that stencil, right???
So thanks so much for stopping by! I hope I’ve inspired you to play along over at Joy Clair this month! You don’t have to use Joy Clair products if you don’t have any… but if you do, you get extra chances to win the $25 gift certificate up for grabs! (Eep… I get an extra chance!). You have until November 29th to play along and you can check out all of the rules here!
I’m also playing along with a challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday! Outlawz is a Ning Group and you have to join to play along, but it’s worth it! Lots of different challenges over there with prizes and great community of artists/papercrafters/crafters! This week’s twist is Hot Beverage… well you know I have to play along with that!
Thanks for stopping! And don’t forget this is coming up! Be there or be square!
