Hello Coffee, Coca & Tea Lovers!!

It’s time for a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #6 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #7 – Use 10 Embellishments! The magazine has four cards using lots of different embellishments!! One uses nothing buttons and pearls. Two other mix it up with a variety of chipboard, rhinestones, stickers, doilies, flowers, ribbons etc. The fourth card uses heart and arrow wood veneers.

I started my card off with Graciellie Designs Christmas Cheer Digital Stamp set. If you haven’t already you really need to check out her digi stamps, lots of great coffee themed sets AND awesome flower sets!! Digi’s are really easy to use, I just pasted the coffee image and the joyful vibes sentiment in Word. I adjusted the size of both. Then to get the sentiment on top of the coffee cup, I changed it to behind the text from the format menu.

After printing the design I used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils to color it up. I used: Lake Blue, Harbor Blue, Sea Grass, Sage, Carmine, Cider, Sangria, Maroon, Auburn, Jade, Cranberry, Cherry Red, Fern Green.

Then I trimmed the card stock to create a white strip the width of the sentiment and fussy cut around the rest of the coffee image. I found some DCWV pattern paper from the Cranberry Christmas pad and added it to a white card base.

Then came the fun part! The 10 embellishments!! At first I wasn’t sure how it would turned out, 10 is a lot and I thought might weight the card down or take away from the image. But after looking through all my enamel dots, rhinestones and washi tape I found some things that matched.

I counted the washi tape as an embellishment, because for me it is! I added it to the card base, part way then added the colored image with foam tape. Then I went and started arranging different enamel dots, rhinestones and pearls around the image. I ended up with 3 yellow ones in the center of the poinsettia, so that helped cut down the number I need to add to the rest of the card!!

I hope this inspires you to pull out your embellishments and use a whole bunch on one card!! Might as well used them!!! (you can always buy more, LOL!!!)
