Hello Coffee Lovers!!
It’s time for a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #4 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your coffee (or tea, I’m drinking a Mocha Mint Latte as I type this up!! Yummm!!) and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!
Challenge #4 – Stamp with Paint!!! The magazine features four cards for this challenge. All of them stamp an image with paint. One, however, one used two different colors and did some stamp layering with the two colors, which I thought was unique!
So I covered this when we were working our way through the last magazine, for this new installment, I decided not to use paint!! Gasp!!! Most crafter’s have paint, but what if you don’t?!?! (or are like me and was too lazy to go down (and then back up) two flights of stairs to get the paint 😀 !!!) Well, start looking around and see what you can make paint like!! I used Tonics Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Orange Blush, in the container its a thick and stiff paste. I used a palette knife and added a little bit to a palette, then added water to it. With a small paint brush I mixed in the water, at first I had clumps, but I just kept at it until it was all smooth and very paint like!
Once I had my ‘paint’ I used Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing to stamp my background. I added my orange paint to the stamp with a paint brush and got to stamping the solid coffee cup all over my panel.
While that dried I used Waffle Flower’s Stampurr to create a small scene with the cat, card and mouse. Off to the side, I stamped the coffee cup. I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to color everything. Then I trimmed and fussy cut the top part of the scene and fussy cut out the coffee cup. The cup was added to the cat’s arms with foam tape.
When my orange paint cups where dry, I used an orange and brown Lindy’s Stamp Gang spray’s to add some splatters. Then I added the panel to a brown panel and finally to a card base.
Last I added the colored scene with foam tape. Since the card in the scene has Hi! on the front, I used that as the sentiment. I really love how this turned out!! The mousse is metallic so there is a nice subtle metallic shine to the background!
Thanks for stopping by!! I hope this inspires you to either break out that paint or see what is in your stash that you can alter to make it paint like!!
