Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! Today I’m playing along with the current Monday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp which is Stamp It On and I’m using the most adorable stamp set from Super Sponsor Little Acres Creations, Cafe Dreamer, along with stamps and dies from a few other sponsors! Here’s how I was inspired:
I loved the sweet Cafe Dreamer stamp set from Little Acres the moment I saw it.
Today I’m using this cutie pie from the set, sitting on an upside down coffee cup gazing up at… what? … The beautiful night sky in the desert. I started by ink distressing some blues onto my background; splattered some water and then used a heat gun to be sure the whole layer was dry. I used my anti static pouch and brushed it across the entire piece. Then I pulled out the adorable Upon A Star stamp set from Lawn Fawn and random stamped the stars and constellations in Versamark and then heat embossed in white. I dotted some little spots using a White Jelly Roll pen randomly and finally sprayed the whole thing with some Shimmer Spray.
Then I decided on a very dark blue for my border, a white layer cut with my favorite Double Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness, and finally my nighttime sky. I started cutting my landscape layers in the same blue as my border… these would be my far away mountains and cacti that are just shadows. I used the quite awesome Southwest Border Die from CDD for these layers which includes the border and a few cacti. Then I cut more cacti from the CDD set in green for up front and the little barrel cactus and flowers are from Marianne Designs. Then a brown bit of desert for the front using a die from the Garden Border Dies from CDD.
Before I attached anything, I stamped my mouse/cup image, colored and cut him out and then played with all of my layers until I was happy using various thicknesses of foam tape. The Thin 3-D Foam Tape from CTMH is one of my favorites for when I just need a little bit of dimension. I gave the little critter his own little tiny cup of coffee to sip while he gazed up at the night sky. I gave the tiny cup some dimension using Liquid Glass from CTMH.
I stamped this sentiment from Cafe Dreamer onto a banner cut using a die from the CDD Flag Banner Die set in Versamark and heat embossed it in white. A few Shimmer Sequins and done!
