Sunday Sip…That was not the plan…

Hey there coffee loving cardmakers!  It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another Sunday Sip and Share!  I thought I’d get ahead of the game and make my September Divider for my planner and made a few clips to add to the pages in a few weeks….

Well, it all started out with grabbing my blank September divider page and some Hero Arts Cocoa Watercolor (It’s off of backorder so order today!).  I planned on making a gorgeous watercolor background by dripping some cocoa goodness down the page…Um…Until the plan changed unexpectedly…

Yeah, look at that mess!  I was reaching for a paint brush and that was all she wrote!  The bottle of ink tipped over and spilled all over.  Then, while trying to pick up the mess on my non-stick craft mat and prepare to pour it back into the bottle, it spilled off the edge and right onto the edge of my CutterpillarGlow.  It flowed right under the self healing craft mat and spread like wildfire!  I tried sucking up some of the ink with the dropper but had to sop the remaining ink up with some paper. Yikes!

So after cleaning up that mess, I closed the bottle (tightly) and continued working on my page. Yes, plans changed, but I just could not bear to toss this page in the trash-ola.  I splattered a bit of white acrylic paint over that and then dried it with my heat gun.

I added some gold paper to the edge and then wrapped a bit of taupe seam binding along the edge.  The sentiment worked perfectly for this page.  Next up, I prepared some planner clips…I colored the clips with Copics and gloss to stiffen them up then attached them to some clips.  The back of the clip was also supported with some of the gold paper used on the divider page.

Two little planner clips all ready to GO!  WOO!

So there you have it.  It didn’t go as planned but I went with the disaster and turned my mess into a fun fix!

Check out the set that I used for this project!  Have you seen the other inspiration for the Graciellie Design/Coffee Loving Cardmakers collaboration?  If not, you’ll want to check ’em out HERE and leave a comment of two.  You just may win a little gift from Graciellie Design too!

Stay Strong is available in Graciellie Design shop on Etsy as well as (a modified red rubber version) at Unity Stamp Co.  Hop over there to purchase yours today!

Since I’m sharing a planner page/clips today, I don’t have a sketch challenge for you to try.  I’ll have one available next week and please check out my previous Sunday posts to participate in any August sketch challenge.

Have a great week!
