Hello, Coffee Lovers!! Dana here with a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! For the past year and half-ish, we worked our way through a Paper Crafts magazine and recently finish the magazine! But not to fear!!! Today we are starting a new magazine: 75 Creative Card Challenges by Paper Crafts, 2013!! Not sure if we will cover all of them, there might be something that I don’t have on hand, so we will see!!
Challenge #1 – Use A Page From The Phonebook. The magazine features four cards using a phonebook page! One cut many strips and weaved them together for a super cool background. Two other cards used dies to cut a phonebook page. The fourth card uses it along with pattern papers.
For my card, I decided to use a stencil and do some ink blending! I started by placing Rubber Moon’s Cuppa Joe Stencil over a page from the white pages from my local phonebook (I knew it would come in handy one day!!! Haha!!). Then I used my Spectrum Noir Harmony Inks Seal Brown, Sand Storm and Friar Brown. I inked around the edge of the small stencil and at first, I was going to cut it down, but in the end, I liked it and decided to go with it!!
Next, I used Joy Clair’s Coffee Lovers stamp set to stamp the Sending You A Whole Latte inside the cup. I used a darker brown ink, Dark Cholcate from Papertrey Ink. I decided to keep it simple, so last I adhered the phonebook page to a white card base, then I roughed up the edges a little!
Thanks for stopping!! If you happen to still have a phone book, you know have a few ideas for using its pages!!
Dana
