Gracielle Designs was fabulous and shared with the DT a new digital coffee stamp set – Coffee and Flowers! Just in time for the Spring & Summer Blog Hop!! Check out Gracielle Designs Etsy shop, she is having a 50% Birthday sale!!
Okay, on to my card!! I resized the image in Word and printed out two copies. I had this retro looking trim in my stash forever!! I think I picked it up at a garage sale and it’s been hanging out in my stash for a long time!!
So for my card, I wanted to use it in a different way, other than just adding it as a bow! With one copy of the stamp, I used a craft knife to cut a slit along both sides of the coffee cup. From the top of the cup to the bottom. Then cut a few strips of the trim, a little bit longer than the coffee cup.
I slipped the trim into the slits on each side, added several strips so the whole cup. Then I used some liquid adhesive to adhere the trim on the back of the cardstock. I placed a stack of books on top to make sure the trim stayed flat while it dried.
On the other digi copy I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color the image, just the flowers. I used AG2, AG5, BO1, BO4, CR7, CR8, CR11, CT1, CT4, DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, DR7, EB7, GY2, GY5, LG5, OR2, OR3.
Then I fussy cut around the image, except the coffee cup, I don’t need it. I used a black pen to color the edge black.
I trimmed up my panel with the coffee cup that has the trim and added it to a panel of pattern paper with Hello speech bubbles. I used foam tape because have the trim creates some depth to the panel. With my SN markers, I did a quick color of the coffee cup’s handle.
Next, I added the colored and cut out with foam tape. The digi set has some great sentiments and printed the Wishing You Lots of Love, Coffee & Flowers sentiment and added it below the image.
I hope this inspires you to look at your ribbon and trim in a new way!! And don’t forget to get your project in for the Spring & Summer Blog Hop!!
