Welcome to another Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! Today I’m playing along with this month’s Challenge #30 over at Pink & Main which is Anything Goes! (My favorite!)
And here’s how I was inspired:
So, I was making a trade with my teamie, Robyn, last week … you know… she had some dies I wanted and I had some ribbon she wanted. And in our conversations she mentioned these “horrible” shaving cream backgrounds she’d made and was going to toss and I told her to toss them into the envelope she was sending me… so she did! I love repurposing started projects that people insist are no good. And it turns out one of them was just right for this challenge.. All I did was smash my versamark ink pad all over the top of it, sprinkle on some Holographic embossing powder, Heat it and then I repeated that (yes, there is now holographic embossing powder all over my Versamark pad) and added some clear over the top of it so that I wouldn’t forever be spreading glitter around when I gave it away. I love doing this to my shaving cream backgrounds because it adds some sparkle and also brings out the colors a bit more. Looks a little Pink & Mainy doesn’t it??
I got this adorable Perfect Blend stamp and die sets (and a few other things) when I went to the Stamp Show in Mesa, Arizona and there was the Pink & Main Booth! The wonderful Michelle Currie couldn’t be there but I got to meet her mom and dad who were OH so nice even though I bugged them for a photo op while they were OH so busy!
Aren’t they sweet?? Anywho! On with my project!
I decided it was time to use my You Trio die set to play with the sentiment a bit. I cut the smallest You from the die set twice in the raspberry color and once in the same white I used for my doily. I glued them all together but offset the white a bit. I stamped the “You are my cup of tea” sentiment sans the “you” in versamark on the black banner and embossed in white. I used thin foam tape to pop up both and let the tail of the Y overlap the banner.
And one more so you can see that sparkly background… so it’s possible Robyn still doesn’t like it, but I do! And I wouldn’t want to leave without mentioning that adorable Tiny Love Bubble die from Waffleflower… it’s great to add to so many cards!
Thanks for stopping! Hope you enjoyed your visit and maybe you’ll play along at Pink & Main this month! You have until May 28th to link up! You do not have to use Pink & Main products to play along!
