Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! Today I’m using some of Super Sponsor Waffle Flower’s stamps and I’m playing along with a couple of Anything Goes challenges over at Super Sponsor D.L. Art’s Blog!
Here’s what I made for today:
I am loving these Enveloper stamp sets from Waffle Flower that are illustrated by Helen Dardik! The one I used for today for my main images is called Enveloper Coffee (well, what else would I use!) They are so fun and whimsical and beautiful! I purchased this one at the Mesa Stamp Show that I attended a few weeks ago with friends and of course Nina from Waffle Flower had a booth there! They are right in the neighborhood!
That beautiful purple seam binding is from Super Sponsor D.L. Art (one of my favorite places to get ribbon) and I’m playing along with Diana’s monthly April Linky Challenge which is Anything Goes and the Thankful Thursday Challenge #225 which is Flowers or you can substitute a Thank You card!
I watched a video by Super Sponsor Gina K the other day and LOVED the technique she used using Distress Oxides, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I tried it out on this card (and another here if you want to see that one too), and I love how it turned out! The video is here if you’d like to check it out and give it a try. Her card is gorgeous and the stamp set also beautiful and very different from this one, so mine has quite a different look, but I do love the way it turned out. The small spaces on this image made it a little bit challenging for this technique, but I’d use this technique again in a heartbeat!
I had this card ready and photographed when I decided to add this cutie pie to it. He’s from a different set. I wanted to use that adorable Tiny Love Bubble die from Waffle Flower and the little directional part was facing the wrong way for the bird that was in the Coffee Set, so I chose this one from the Enveloper From set. (I could have turned the bubble around, but the back just wasn’t as pretty).
I splattered some water droplets onto the finished piece and soaked up the extra water with a paper towel and then used a paintbrush to splatter some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine onto it. I let it dry before I stamped the sentiment from Close To My Heart’s Birthday Sparkles set over the top using my Misti and some Memento Ink. Isn’t that teapot from the Enveloper Coffee set so pretty???
Hope you enjoyed your time here and maybe you’ll watch the video and try out this technique. I’m pretty sure I need the floral that Gina used so that’s on my list…lol! Also, be sure to check out Diana Larson’s (D.L. Art) challenges and you could win some of her beautiful ribbon!
And don’t forget you have until tomorrow evening to comment on the A2Z Scrapbooking Collaboration Hop post for your chance to win some free digis! You can find that here!
Come back again soon!
