Hello there coffee loving stampers! It’s Kerry here and I’m signing in from my last day of Spring Break in breezy southern Georgia! Many blessings to you on this beautiful Easter Sunday. It’s been a nice visit with my family and I’m blessed to be able to live close enough to drive down for a week and relax. For this visit, I packed up my Misti bag full of stamping goodies and remembered most everything but I forgot a few important necessities like my paper cutter and my favorite detail scissors. It’s hard to craft with yucky scissors and just a Misti L ruler and a pencil (to trim my paper) but I managed to crank out a few nice cards, I think. I did remember some brand spankin’ new stamps and papers that I’ve been itchin’ to play with for quite some time and I carved out a little time to craft one rainy day to make this fun card!
This card features a brand new stamp set called “Coffee Helps” and a fun new paper pack called Sunday Adventure Prints (both by Fun Stampers Journey). Today is the release of the Spring into Summer MINI catalog and these two products are some of my favorites so far. You might not see it here, but this pack has a patterned paper that perfectly matches this coffee set! I’ll definitely be playing with that pattern in future creations. If you’re interested in checking out the new mini catalog, you can visit it on the Fun Stampers Journey website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Now, I know the photo lighting is not the greatest but I’m on vacation and I guess they’ll just have to do!
To create this card, I stamped the to-go cup and then colored it with my Copic Markers. I then colored a few leaves to match the leaves on the patterned paper. I cut out some of the “flowers” from the patterned paper and arranged them in a pleasing design around the cup. I love this little flower print paper because the flowers are so fun and whimsical. I think they’re perfect for cutting out or using as a full sheet on a card.
To add a little dimension, some of the floral pieces were popped up with foam squares. I also added a bit of the patterned paper along the edge of the cardfront…right after stamping the sentiment.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out and can’t wait to get home so I can play with it some more! I had to be frugal with the printed paper as I only brought one sheet of 6×6 print with me. (This paper comes in 12×12 size and I cut the whole pack down to 6×6!).
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a fabulous day…I’ll be celebrating Easter with my family and singing Happy Birthday to ME! Yep, it’s my birthday today too. NO joke!
