Welcome to another Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! Today I’m playing along with Super Sponsor Impression Obsession’s Challenge and this time around the theme is Friendship Flowers. Here’s how I was inspired:
There was a Minc machine under my tree for Christmas this year! And this past week I finally took it out of the box. It was a space issue rather than a want to use issue…lol! But over the weekend I cleared a space and brought it out and played with different kinds of foils and medium. That sentiment from I.O., She Has A Heart, screamed for a shimmery star background. The perfect chance to pull out some Deco Foil Transfer Gel and a stencil. You basically apply the gel like you would texture paste through the stencil and when it’s dry, you add the foil (I used some Gina K Gold Sequins Foil) and run it through the machine, peel it off and Voila! Beauteous!
I’ve had that adorable little Feathery Owl stamp from Impression Obsession FOREVER! I just love it. I cut out a scalloped circle from CDD and stamped her on it in CTMH Toffee ink and then just added some highlights with my gold Wink of Stella pen… a few lines here and a few dots there. I colored her eyes in black and added a couple white highlights. I layered my circles… a little pink vellum to frame my scallops and then this coffee cup! I believe I bought this one during the Winter Coffee Hop… It’s the Coffee To Go stamp set and I got the matching dies… although this seemed fairly easy to fussy cut, I love that I got the dies along with the stamp set and love that I can just cut out the wrapper if I want also like I did here. I cut it from a coffee wrap because of course I save all of my coffee wraps! I paper pieced the pink argyle from some CTMH paper and added an acrylic heart from my stash. A few teeny flowers and some bling and popped it up… perfect! I LOVE this cup! And the whole set… there are a few patterns on it and various little stamps to decorate it along with some great sentiments… I however chose this one:
I knew when I saw it I must have it. I just LOVE this sentiment. And I’m thinking coffee probably has a little to do with her wonderful heart and soul… I mean… I’m sure it helps. I stamped it with Versamark on my vellum banner and embossed with some Brutus Monroe Gilded Embossing powder and added a few more flowers and bling.
So there you have it! There are a few rules over at the Impression Obsession Challenge and you can find them in the challenge post here! You do need to use Impression Obsession stamps and dies, but you can use other brands of layering/nesting dies. You have until February 13th to play along with this one and I hope you’ll join me for some fun! If you don’t currently have any Impression Obsession stamps and dies… well, what are you waiting for? Um… that coffee cup is a great start. Check out all of their coffee goodness here!
Oh! And don’t forget about the hop this Friday! We’re collaborating with the team at Graciellie and here’s a sneak peek of one of my projects!
