Hello there Coffee Loving peeps! It’s Kerry here and I’m back after a doozie of a winter holiday break! I spent most of my two week break at my sister’s home in the country and it had very limited internet. So…I spent a lot of time dreaming about my craft room and all the projects I was missing…and all the emails piling up in my inbox. LOL. It was a nice and restful two weeks, that’s for sure!
Because of my lag in internet, I missed out on seeing the heads up on our Terri’s farewell to CLC DT role. I’ve always loved reading her posts and viewing her inspirational projects but I the thing I will miss most of all is her posts venturing out to local (and not so local) coffee shops in her area. I loved reading her “reporter-like” posts and loved seeing her photos so much! I hope Terri will consider popping in here and there to share a few more of these posts! So, while she’s off being famous and designing stamps for various companies, I’d like to share that favorite post she made. Check it out when you have the time.
Terri, I’ll miss your posts and creations so much, but I know I’ll see your fabulousness all over the internet! So see you around!
I created this little stack-o-penguins with Terri and all the Coffee Loving Team in mind. I wanted to show that I’m so happy to be part of this group. We stack up nicely, don’t we?
This Whimsy stamp called Penguin Totem is from one of my most favorite illustrators. It hasn’t seen ink EVER and I decided it was about time I used it! Can you imagine having a stamp set for a whole year and not even inking it once? HA HA…I bet you can! After stamping up the image onto white cardstock, I doodled a few cups of joe and a little hot chocolate cup to go with the image. I pulled out my Copics to make this image come to life. I’ve not used my Copics in FOREVER and I’m embarrassed to say that they have been collecting dust (GASP) for over a year. I decided it was high time to get them out and see if there was any ink left in them! I did a little practice run with this stamp and wowee I think it turned out pretty good for being out of practice for a year.
I added some pops of color and stippling for fun (I have always loved the confetti backgrounds) and also added some sparkle here and there. I used some Nuvo Drops for dimension too. This is a pretty CAS card for me and although I didn’t add any ribbon, I tried to hint at ribbon with that pink strip peeking out from under the image panel. 😉
Sparkles on the Nuvo Drop dots make them icy, right?
I hope you find this card brings you a smile and that it warms you up a bit! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous week!
Inspired by this card? I’ve created a coordinating sketch for you to play with. I’ll be using this sketch a lot this week and I hope it inspires you to create some fun projects. If you choose to play along this week, please share your creations with us! We’d love to see them. Make sure to add them to the inlinkz below because I’ll be selecting one participant this month to get a fun little coffee loving prize from me.
