I’m stepping outside the box today, and showing you my December planner layout. With the upcoming Winter Blog Hop on the horizon, I thought it would be fun to show you how I give that event a little spotlight in my planner. I’m also talking coffee and Chicago so stick around.
All of the stamped images in my planner today are from Super Sponsor So Suzy Stamps. I’m using images from the most recent holiday release (including some that I designed) and other images in the shop, including that yummy coffee cup.
I tied some knotted ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, in the center of each plastic ring for some added texture and embellishment. A little dot of glue, before tightening the knot will keep it in place and my planner closes without any problems. You’ll find the links to all the products that I used on my personal blog post today at Waving My Wand.
My coloring tools are Tombow dual brush marker, Arteza glitter pens and a white gel pen. I wanted my Christmas light bulbs to have that twinkling effect as if every other bulb was flashing, so I added white gel pen, mixed with water from my waterbrush for that milky/light effect.
There’s a whole lot of light bulbs to color but since I love to color, it was more like play time than work. I stamped the coffee cups by swiping with a brown Tombow marker and stamping. Each stamped cup represents each day of the blog hop, with the exception of the gifts taking up space on the day that Hanukkah begins, although a Menorah would have been more appropriate!
I’m headed to Chicago soon, for the very first time. My son’s high school marching band is performing in the Festival of Lights Parade on Nov. 18th. We are all super excited and I’m coming along to chaperone the band. Of course, I had to do a little coffee research.

I can’t come all that way and not find some super amazing coffee right? I did a little research and just about every Top 10, Top 25, etc. list included a coffee shop on Green St. called Sawada, where you can find the “military latte”; matcha and espresso mingled together for a smooth, creamy and luxurious drink. Check out Zagat’s Top 9 Hottest Coffee Shops, here. I HAVE TO TRY THIS!! Now, to figure out, how I’m going to get to Green St., while chaperoning kids!
Thanks for stopping in today. Remember, if you’d like links to the products that I used today, stop by my blog at Waving My Wand. Have a great week! Terri
Reminder – Here are the Winter Hop details. The fun will start at 6:00 am pacific!
