Hello Coffee Fans!! Dana here with a new installment of Brew & Craft Your Stash!! I have some great ideas for Layering Stamps!! If this is the first time you are seeing my feature or need a refresher, click here for my very first post, it gives a little background explanation on my feature!!
We’re moving onto the Applying Techniques section of the 2012 Paper Crafting Tips & Techniques magazine. We are looking at Layering Stamps! Stamping layering is all the rage lately but you don’t need them to layer stamps, in my case just a circle stamp and some coffee stamps, of course!! The wonderful Betsy Veldman gives is several ideas to layering some stamps!!
- layer stamps to create a custom background
- layer stamps to make a focal point
- Stamp multiple times to create a shadow
- Press two inked stamps together and stamp the main image to get a unique stamped image
- Layer sentiments on top of each other
- Stamp the back side of the image and then stamp the correct side for some details
I kind of had an idea in my head and luckily I had the right stamps to pull it off! I started with a circle stamp from Lil Inker Designs Spot On stamp set and Sweet Stamp Shop’s Cuppa Coffee stamps.
With my MISTI I stamped the circle many, many times with random ink colors. It was a little time consuming but I really love how this card turned out!! So graphic!!
Next, I stamped the coffee cup images from Sweet Stamp Shop. I changed the orientation of two of the cups just to spice things up and added the solid heart from the set to the mix.
Then I stamped the Hugs sentiment from the Spot On set and trimmed the strip and rounded the corners off on one end. I messed up stamping one of the circles, so that’s where I put the sentiment!! I also used the matching die for the set and cut a circle, trimming off one of the circles. I stamped the XOXO circle and placed it above my sentiment.
So fun, bright and graphic! I love how the colors pop on the Kraft cardstock! I hope this encourages you to take a look at your coffee stamps and layering them up!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Dana
