Sunday Sip…Bean Queen

CLCSip 10.1 Card

Hey there Coffee Loving Friends!  It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip.  This week I thought I’d share a card I just created using a stamp set that was intended for the Coffee Lovers Hop.  You know, I always have grand ideas and plans that I will post a bagillion cards like YOU KNOW WHO, but it didn’t happen for me again.  Oh well…At least I have some yummy new stamp sets (and digis) that are ready and waiting for my weekly posts!  Notice my new funky mug in the photo?  I love it!  It’s by a fabulous potter named Eric Beavers.  If you’re a mug collector like I am, you can find him on Instagram @ericbeavers_ceramics.

Several months ago I discovered this stamp set (and her coordinating tea set) called Coffee Queen by Andrea Gomoll  (just scroll down to find this set.)  I fell in love and just had to have them.  I had never ordered stamps from Germany before but decided I would give it a try.  It was so easy and shipping was super fast.  I think they came to my home in about a week.  Not sure if it helps that I live near a very popular airport for international flights.  In any case, I was thrilled to get them so quickly.  PS…Her preorder sets are gorgeous don’tcha think?!

Sunday Sip and Share

I stamped the Coffee Queen “Bean Queen” image using some Memento ink onto Kraft Cardstock then colored the image with watercolor pencils and plain colored pencils.  I also added some glaze to the beans (I stamped and fussy cut many beans to apply under the bodice) to give them some dimension and shine.

It was fun coloring this image and I look forward to making some fun collage images with this set.  I just love the variety of images including the fun little mailing envelope and think they will make some fabulous envelope art!

The little coffee cups with whip cream were too irresistible to leave off the page so I stamped and colored a few of them to add to the layout design.  I thought adding the image onto some corrugated cardstock would continue the fun texture of this card.  The layout is quite simplistic, but I think it works well with this gorgeous image!

I want to thank all those who participated in the September #clcsipandshare sketch challenges and have selected the monthly winner.  Congratulations goes to M Strach (Zajawka) who contributed THIS CARD to the September #clcsipandshare challenge.  I’ll get in contact with you to send you a special coffee loving treat!

Please join us this month and play along with this week’s sketch!  Just add your link to the inlinkz below!  🙂
