Lisa Bzibziak  is back with us again with a gorgeous project!

Excited to be back here today!  I’ve had this canvas idea in my head for quite a while and was meaning to create it for the last coffee hop, but just didn’t get around to it.. if only I could retire!  So I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get it out of my head and onto a canvas.

I’ve been playing around with various canvases and mediums for a couple years now and all I can say to you if you’ve thought about it but are scared… just do it!   All I used here for my background is a little acrylic paint and some gold texture paste.  I painted my canvas the turquoise color; sponged on some gold; and when that was dry, I used a Tim Holtz stencil and some texture paste to create the sunrays.  That part takes a little while to dry so set that aside for a while and start something else… or you could organize or clean your house or something, but that’s not what we do here… here, we just make a bigger mess!

The beauty of something like this is if you don’t like it when it’s dry, just paint over the whole thing and start again… I never throw a project away… I work it until I’m happy with it.

I used some products from a few Super Sponsors on this one… above that awesome sentiment and the large butterfly were cut with some Stamplorations dies and that pretty little butterfly is from Craftin Desert Divas.  I cut these from shiny gold foil paper.  If you don’t know… I kinda have a thing for gold…

The Hello Sunshine I just cut from heavy cardstock and smooshed Versamark all over it and heat embossed some Verdigris embossing powder over it… LOVE that powder.. I used it below too!

This coffee cup die from Paper Sweeties really is one of my favorites… I love the shape of it… love that the handle is cut out… it’s a great size… and that steam!  I cut the steam using the die that comes with this cup from gold vellum.  I adhered it with some clear Kool Tak foam tape (one of my favorite products I discovered this year-I found on Amazon) and then added some liquid glass over the top.  I love the way the liquid glass makes it curl a bit more even…

That’s it for me today!  Hope you enjoyed it!  I know I had fun!

See you again soon!
