Hello there Coffee Loving friends! It’s Kerry here checking in from sunny Brunswick, Georgia! I’m here vacationing on Spring Break and thought I’d share my coffee-loving post by buzzing in (hee hee) from the Wake Up Coffee Company. This little unsuspecting shop has quite a fun atmosphere inside and I was excited to give their beans and their coffee a try!
The inside of this little shop is decorated with reclaimed wood and there are a few perfect spots to sit a spell and sip your coffee (or tea)! Their philosophy is direct-trade or locally sourced, so it was fun investigating this shop a little more. According to the barista that served me, they roast their own beans, bottle their own cold-brew, make their own syrups and host some local art for sale on their walls. It’s a hopping little place with young twenty-somethings coming and going all day.
To test out this little shop, I opted for a 16 oz Americano with a splash of cream. You might notice the fun stirrer in my cup. It’s actually a tall bamboo stirrer that melted right into my cup! I also tried out their homemade raspberry scone. YUM! For a take-home souvenir, I grabbed a bag of some fresh-roasted beans and a bottle of their cold brew.
The Wake Up Coffee Company currently has two shops (Brunswick, St. Simons Island) and is looking to open another shop on the other end of the island. If you get a chance to drive by, make sure you stop in and check it out!
Now, my post wouldn’t be complete without a card and a sketch would it? Well, even while on vacation, I managed to go “souvenir” shopping at a local Hobby Lobby for some cardmaking supplies. I whipped up this card at my parent’s kitchen table. Check it out!
Mom even photobombed my shot! Hee Hee…
I picked up this set (and a spare) from the new Hobby Lobby down the street. It’s a cute little clear set from Stampabilities called Coffee. I’m sharing the other set with someone who plays with this week’s sketch!
See…Here was my photo set-up for this fun card (Stamping To GO!). Set up my vignette on the kitchen table facing the big sunny windows!
I also spent some time playing with the palm tree fronds in their backyard…I made some palm crosses for my family and even made a little woven mat for my little cuppa joe! Cute ‘eh?
Hope you enjoyed this hodge-podge of fun while I’m on vacation. I’ve enjoyed my time here in GA and am not looking forward to heading home! So for one last hoo-rah, My family will be waking up before the sun so that we can celebrate Easter Sunday at the outdoor Sunrise Service on St. Simons Island. It should be quite memorable and I hope the No-see-um’s aren’t biting! Sending you and yours Easter blessings tomorrow!
I hope you find some time this week to play along with this sketch. I’ll be watching for some yummy creations. I’ll be sharing my second stamp set picked up on my vacation with one coffee-loving cardmaker who plays along with it!
Make sure to add your creation to the inlinkz below! I’ll pick the winner from there!
