Happy Wednesday my caffeinated friends! Today I am going to show you how to have some fun adding a spotlight color to create a stunning focal panel with any image.
When using this technique, I like to choose a large image to highlight. For this card, I chose a big ol’ beautiful Unity Girl from Unity Stamps Kit of the Month.
I scribbled red Faber Castell Gelato stick around my image (and also added just a teensy bit to the heart in the coffee cup).
Then I smudged it with my fingers using a circular motion and blended the color out into the white space, being careful (mostly) not to get the color on my focal image. If you’re super worried about creating a neat card (aka – not my typical mixed media lovin’ style), you can always mask off your image prior to coloring.
Next, I took a grungy word and stamped it over and over again in square blocks, alternating to create my own pattern.
I backed my image with some black to make it pop a little bit more and added a sentiment from the same stamp set (STAMPlorations Coffee Happy).
Put it all together and what do you get? A bold and graphic card! Hope you like it and have a faaaaaantastic Wednesday!
