Our Spring Blog Hop is in full swing and I’m enjoying so many of your amazing creations. Isn’t it a joy to be part of such an awesome crafting community? I know you would all agree with me. For my project today, I’ve created a window scene with fussy cut colored images, embossing and lots of pretty details. Stick around for a few minutes because I’ve also got some interesting Coffee Buzz news for Dunkin’ Donuts fans. But first, here’s a few card details…..
I’m breaking out my Sizzix dies and embossing folders for my window scene, starting with the Tim Holtz Bigz Window and Window Box die, along with the scalloped border from the Sizzix Mini Album die set, and building my scene around that. I also used my project today for a quick tip 1 minute video, here. A fun, easy tip on making your own sticky dots from a high tack adhesive runner, in a matter of seconds.
I broke out my precious Barista papers from Basic Grey to make my butterfly. I traced the outline of a large wooden butterfly that I have in my stash, and scaled it down just a bit, then punched some holes and lined the backside with the striped Barista papers, adding a touch of Mod Podge dimensional glitter glue to my punched circles.
Next, I broke out a retired stamp set from Two Paper Divas called “Stuck on You” and colored up the bird and plants with Tombow dual brush markers, also using my Misti to stamp and mask the plants, then fussy cut them. TPD retired their business last December but I happen to know that if you absolutely would love to have that stamp set, there are a couple available at 50% off. You can email them, here.
I also used the Tim Holtz “On the Go” embossing folder, cutting out one of the embossed cups and paper piecing it with floral papers from the Carta Bella “Home Sweet Home” paper pad. The words are TH Big Chat stickers with the exception of the “coffee” word. I created that to blend with my other wordy stickers, but it’s from the Sweet Stamp Shop “Cuppa Coffee” stamp set. Doesn’t it fit in perfectly? I stamped with white pigment ink onto Neenah black cardstock, then drew in with a white gel pen for better definition. By the way, all my adhesives are from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
I’ll also be sharing this fun project over at the Sizzix challenge at scrapbook.com. Now, on to the Coffee Buzz news…..
Dunkin Donuts is ditching their line of Coolatta frozen beverages for a more up to date version, called the Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee which will offer a more “energizing coffee drink experience”. You can read all about it, here. DD stores should have this new offering in all stores by the summer. Good news for those of us who love a cool, refreshing and caffeinated jolt in the summer heat!
If you haven’t linked up yet, we’d love to have you create a new spring themed card that features coffee, tea or cocoa, to the CLC Spring blog hop, here. You’ll find all the details on that link but hurry, the hop ends March 31st at 6 pm PT. Thanks so much to the generous sponsors who provided such amazing prizes for this event!
If you’re participating in the Spring hop, be sure and visit my entry, #48, as I’m having a little giveaway of my own. Have a wonderful week! I hope the snow is melting for some of my friends and flowers are blooming in it’s place. Terri
