Hello, Coffee Loving friends!
It’s Dana here. I can hardly believe that February is almost over! Time is flying too fast… Before say hello to spring season, I tried new cardmaking style that I’ve never made. You know most of my cards have white or colored empty space. But today is… here is what I came up with 🙂
I started by smooshing distress ink (Antic linen) on the flat side of Coffee Bean embossing folder from Elizabeth craft designs. I spritzed water with mini mister, too. I then ran through embossing folder with watercolor paper to my big shot. Next, I slightly rubbed distress mini ink pads to raised coffee beans. I used Tea dye, Vintage photo and Ground espresso. I learned this technique from Jennifer McGuire’s YouTube channel.
With same technique, I created bubble background using Sizzix Waves & Bubbles embossing folder and cut it with tag die. At this time, I used Barn door, Candied apple, Wild honey, Cracked pistachio distress inks. That’s all I did for backgrounds in 10 minutes.
For mini tag, I sponged distress inks and stamped sentiment from MFT Perk up stamp set. Coffee cup is from same stamp set and I stamped it with Versafine Crimson red.
Before finishing my card, I was not comfortable because there was no empty space!! I wasn’t 100% ready for getting out of my comfort zone. So I added doily paper behind tags for little empty space among full colored and textured messy things… lol.
I mounted all elements as shown in the picture using glue and foam adhesives. After adding hemp cords, some sequins and paper butterfly, I adhered coffee bean panel to the white card base using double sided tape.
Hope you enjoy this card. I’ll be back with lovely spring cards in March!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Love,
Dana
