Wednesday Esspressosions Take One

WEDNESDAY ESSPRESSOSIONS

I need some coffee because I think I’m still dreaming! Somebody pinch me! It’s my very first post as an official Coffee Loving Cardmaker. For those of you who haven’t “met” me before – a big caffeinated hello to you! I’m Becca and I loooove mixed media.

>insert seamless transition here<

So it will be no surprise to those of you who DO know me that I’m going to be showcasing a mixed media beauty of a card for all of you today.

I began my layers by gluing some thin strips of paper onto a larger base of patterned paper.

Distress Inks

I scribbled some Picked Raspberry Distress Crayons around the edges of the strips and smudged with my fingers. I added a couple of strips of vintage lace over the top to create horizontal interest.

Next, I spritzed my paper with water and lightly tapped on some fuschia Ken Oliver Colorburst Powders. Seriously, these things are all shades of magical in a teeny little bottle. LOVE the drama they create.

I decided I wanted a slightly darker complementary color in there, so I used some Seedless Preserves Distress Crayons onto the center strip.

Coffee Card Valentine

To finish the look, I stamped a big ol’ adorable coffee mug from the STAMPlorations A Cuppa Love stamp set, along with a matching sentiment.

Like You A Latte

Well, whew! That wasn’t so scary after all. Thank you all for joining in on my very first Wednesday Espressosions!

Cool card, Becca! LOVE those stripes!
Mixed Media is a lot of fun… inky fingers, inky work space, eventually inky pets, but in the end even the pets are happy :D! Just kidding, but not about the fun and happiness of Mixed Media.
