New Year, new beginnings, new goals, new adventures … same coffee addict me! And my new blog feature … “Life happens, coffee helps”. I will continue to be posting on Wednesday, but this time it will be a bi-weekly post. So every other week I will be back to share with you coffee/ tea/ hot chocolate themed projects and to chat with you about “life that happens”.
It looks like the true winter has just moved into my country this past week, with fairly heavy snow and well below freezing temperatures. Hot coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate abounded to keep us warm.
This aspect of life was the inspiration for the card I am sharing with you today. It is an action wobbler card, in sparkling purple color (I know, I know … forgot to mention earlier, same love for purple).
For today’s card I used the “Warm wishes” stamp and coordinating die set, by Simon Say Stamp. I have die cut a panel using the stitched rectangle die. I added color to the panel using distress inks in “shaded lilac” and “wilted violet” colors. You might notice the panel has a thin white frame, I have obtained this by covering a very thin stripe of the panel with masking tape, before blending the ink. I like the way this allow the stitching to show.
Once the ink was dry, I stamped and embossed several elements from the stamp set on my panel. I used embossing glitter called “sparkling snow” by Wow. I will admit of not being careful at all with the sparkles left on the panel as I was dusting off the powder, as this added more sparkle to the panel, around the stamped images.
The cup of coffee is colored using the same distress inks and the snowflake pattern is stamped and embossed with the same embossing powder. I had this idea that when is so cold, even the hot drinks shiver. So here is my purple cup on an action wobbler, shivering away … brrr…
