Hello there Coffee Loving Cardmaking friends! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another Sunday Sip and Share. I decided to jump right in on the next holiday and pulled out some yummy pinks and LOVE colors to create my Valentine card today. I also jumped in with my love of mixed media. Hope you likie!
To create this yummy mixed media card, I first started with some Whip Cream cardstock. I used a large stencil from Fun Stampers Journey called Polka Dot Wall and some acrylic paint in Sweet Berry and Butter Cream. I washed the Sweet Berry on with a wet paintbrush and then let that dry. After it was dry, I applied the Butter Cream with my finger.
After all of the paint was dry, I splattered some Gold Silk, Silver Silk and some Cosmic Grape Silk onto the background and added some stamping with one of my favorite background images called Postage Stamp. Since I created a large “polka-dotty” panel, I was able to cut a piece of it out into the shape of a coffee tumbler. I loved adding this handmade tumbler to the card and think it was the perfect touch to coordinate with the background.
Notice just an itty bit of machine stitching on the card? Yes, I added that to give it some added texture and to adhere the banner strips to the card panel. I included a few handmade “banners” by incorporating some cut Oatmeal Cookie cardstock and Vellum. I Finished the card off it off by adding some yummy Black Licorice twine, Bubblegum Satin Ribbon and some Sparkle Drops made this panel complete. I mounted the inky panel onto some silver pearl cardstock and then onto a Hazelnut Blend card base. YUM! Chocolatey DEEELISH!
I hope you enjoy my creation today. I’ve included the coordinating sketch below. We’d love for you to participate in our monthly sketch challenge so please join the fun! At the end of the month I’ll select one lucky participant to win a yummy treat! Please add an image of your card to the linky below and if you’re sharing on social media, please include the hashtag #clcsipandshare!
