Hello there Coffee Loving Friends! It’s Kerry here for another installment of Sunday Sip and Share! I hope you’ve had a fabulous week. I’m enjoying some extended time in my craft room. WAHOO!
A few weeks ago, Whimsy Stamps had a special sale and I hopped over to their website to order a few fun sets. I was THRILLED to see a very familiar artist’s work in the shop! You may not know it, but I’m a cookier. Yes! I love to decorate cookies. There are many ways to decorate cookies- and I’ve been in love with decorating character cookies (using my Kopycake) for quite some time. When I saw the stamp image below “Holiday Moose”, I immediately recognized the artist’s style and was thrilled to see her images in stamp form! I’ve been hoping this artist (Drawn With Character on Etsy) would launch some stamps with her images and I was so thrilled to see her designs at Whimsy Stamps!!!
Now, this moose image is the most adorable moose I’ve seen and I did a little tweaking of the image to make him “Coffee-Loving”. You see, his back foot usually holds up a wrapped gift but I decided to doodle (in Krista’s sketchy style) a hot chocolate mug. I think it works well with the scene. I also doodled some more “snow” and wrapped it around the bottom of the card. It pops out a bit to create a little ring of snow under his feet.
I had so much fun coloring the image with Copic markers. I fussy cut the little guy and popped him up onto some white cardstock that I colored a bit with Pan Pastel (Confectionary Days Special Collection by FSJ). The corrugated paper, Huckleberry Fusion card base and the Candy Apple Red ribbon are from Fun Stampers Journey.
Such a yummy cup and a big old pile of whipped cream! Nothing spilled either! HA HA. I also added some hints of Journey Glaze on the cup, on his boots and on the Christmas Lights. So fun!
If you’re interested in the Copic Colors used for this card, the photo below includes all the colors used. I never plan my coloring so I tend to just keep adding colors until I feel the image is complete.
Now on to the simple sketch: I added a RED CUP to the sketch because, well, it’s that time of year! 🙂 If you would like to join the fun in creating a coffee-loving card inspired by this sketch, please post a link to your card below. We’d love to see your creation! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!
