Hello there coffee-tea and cocoa loving cardmakers! It’s Kerry here for another Sunday Sip and Share…
My card today is a tribute to my college roommate’s father who lost his battle with brain cancer recently. I’m so sad for my roomie-and am overflowing with fond memories and happy times we shared. This card is a compilation of some of my fondest of memories of him. Although personal, it’s important for me to share, and I’m forever grateful for the memories. I hope my roomie will receive this card and find comfort in it too…
It’s really a quite simple card for me…but the message is clear…Here’s to the memories! I won’t go into too much detail, but I will say that the items featured have a specific significance to me and my roomie (and her dad). *Canada Red teacup *Indianapolis 500 Checkered Flags *Hockey Puck *Garlic Cloves *Feather *Honeycomb background.
I’m reminded every time I sit down to create a card for someone special that this is why cardmaking is so important to me…Making cards isn’t just for the fun, the crafty retreat or for the artsy inspiration…No, to me, it’s for capturing memories, sharing life’s joys-and at times…it’s sorrows. This is where store-bought cards can’t compete. It’s hard to capture the most precious memories in a store bought card. That’s why I create.
Thanks to A Creative Journey With Melissa (Coffee Tea and Wine, Oh My!) and Fun Stampers Journey (Checkered Flag, Feathers, Honeycomb) for allowing our memories to be documented in this card.
Now it’s time to share my coordinating sketch. I hope you find the sketch something worth playing with and I look forward to seeing your creations in our link-ups this month!
