Hello there coffee loving cardmakers! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another Sunday Sip and Share! Today I’m sharing a couple cards I created for some inky friends. The first card was created for a friend who just returned from her yearly trip to Germany and Austria. As my father’s side of the family is from Germany, I’ve always dreamed of visiting the countryside and just exploring my roots…I’ve not had a chance to get there yet, but someday soon, I’ll be able to go. So while I wait for MY day to come, I journey vicariously through my friends posts…
So, I was thrilled to receive some special German stickers from my friend Ruby. I was touched that she thought of me while having her fun adventure and that she thought enough to send me something special. Crafty friends are such gems! 🙂
I tweaked Rita’s Freshly Made Sketches #258 sketch just a bit and added a yummy Hero Arts mug in the background using some Turbo Teal ink. I scribble-colored some Copic color on the mugs as I knew they would be covered and blurred a bit with the vellum overlay.
I know that these metallic stickers are widely used in European cards and I’m not sure why the style hasn’t made it here in the USA. I’ve seen it in a few places, but not very many. Since I speak a tiny bit of German, I had fun trying to translate all the sentiments on the sticker sheets she sent. They’re pretty easy sentiments and I had little trouble with them. WOO! I feel special!
Yummy ribbon and twine finished off the sketch and the card! I want to send a special thank you “Vielen Dank!” to my friend Ruby for sending me these stickers! 🙂
Now, I have another card I created using the same stamp set. I created this one so I could also create a sketch for you today…so here goes:
So to create this card, I brushed some Silver and Gold Silk onto some Cocoa Powder cardstock. Then I splattered some watered down Butter Cream acrylic ink and the Silks (including Dark Roast) onto the cardstock. I cut out the pattern after it dried so that I could pop-it-up on the white card base. I love layering so this worked perfectly on my card.
I stamped the mason jar from the Hipster at Heart set (after I colored it with Copics) first. I cut the Mason Jar out and popped it up on the card and then added some Journey Glaze to give it some shine. I stamped the sentiment from the You Are My Happy set. To finish the card off, I added a bit of golden embossing strips along the edges of the sentiment and the stamped panel. Yummy gold…
So I hope you enjoyed my cards today! Let’s check out the sketch I created this week! We would love for you to join us in playing with the sketch this week. Our sketch challenge runs until the end of the month so If you would like to play along with the sketch, please add your link to our inlinkz below.
