Good Morning, coffee loving cardmakers! Helen here again with Thursday Coffee Break. Grab your favorite drink and let’s talk about recycling and card-making.
I like to “collect” things that I think that I could use for craft supplies for me and the girls. I collect anything that I could recycle them. Don’t get me wrong here… I collect, not hoarding… LOL… 😀 Last Spring, I did a big clean up in my craft room and a corner where I stacked cardboards, boxes, mail padded envelopes, gift bags, tissues papers, and plastics. I realized that moment, I had collected way too many things that would not be used. So, I separated which I could use and which would go to dumpster.
My husband was proud of me 😀 Most of the old boxes were gone! Some of the boxes I cut out the pictures that I like and can be use an embellishments, like K-cups boxes usually have some pretty cup pictures on them. I also cut out the clear plastic that I can use as to store rubber stamps (which they usually do not come with plastic base to store), and as you can see in this picture below, I also keep Starbucks cup sleeves.

I think, this is a small thing we can do to reduce trash in this world by recycling what we can use as craft supplies. But, we also need to be careful to not collect trash in our house. I made mistake before. We need to be wise and also be sure that things we keep are to be recycled and used not only sitting at the corner for nothing.
I made a card using one of the cups from K-cups box and I CASE-ing the card from Chaitali from last week link up party. You still have time to play along with this link up party! Go here to read all about it.

Stamp set I used on this card is from Paper Smooches – Cyber Cafe set. And I stamped the background and sentiment with Distress Ink Pads. I added some glitter papers and foil chevron papers for the layers. Using circle and scallop punches to punch out the labels for sentiment. I finished it with some orange twine from American Crafts.
This is a sample what you can do with recycled embellishments. You also can find LOTS of ideas on Pinterest, like these ones:

I hope you all are inspired today to recycle all the coffee boxes and wrappers into something else. So, tell us, do you recycle? Do you have a project you created with recycled supplies? Share with us in the comment and I would love to see it!
And Coffee Loving friends, keep sending happy mail and handmade kindness to others!
Thank you so much for visiting! And have a fabulous Thursday!
