We’re so happy to have Terri Burson with us as this month’s Guest Designer! Take it away Terri!
I’ve always been artsy and creative but a friend invited me to her scrapbooking class several years ago and there was no turning back. In the last year I’ve designed for May
Arts Ribbon, The Ribbon Resource, So Suzy Stamps, Two Paper Divas and the DoubleClick Skittles embellishment line. I’m a 2016 Guest Designer at Miss Kate Cuttables as well. In 2014, I had the priviledge to be the Guest Blogger and Show Photographer for the Craft and Hobby Association’s Inaugural Paper Arts Trade Show in Atlanta, GA. I’ve been married too many years to count and have a 14 year old son. We are all musicians as well and my son plays the Saxophone in the High School Band. Go Bearcats!
Hello, all my coffee loving friends! I’m so happy to be guesting this month at Coffee Loving Card Makers. I think I’ve been along for the ride since it’s inception and am not at all surprised at the devoted followers, myself included. As a designer for Two Paper Divas Stamps, who’ve been lovely sponsors for some time, I thought I would kick off Tuesdays in July, here at CLCM, with a few projects featuring their stamps, starting with this new release for July, called, “Stuck On You”. As of this writing, it’s not on the site yet, but will be available either July 5th or 6th. I’ve watercolored my image using Tombow dual brush markers. To make my polka dots on the cup pop out, I’ve added a touch of white with a gel pen. It lends to a 3-D look, don’t you think? This set includes several different succulents and sentiments, along with that fun cup.
Next, a tropical, pineapple inspired cup of yumminess. Is it coffee? Is it tea? Perhaps, a green tea infused smoothie? It’s open for interpretation. I had a little fun contest on my Facebook and Instagram page this past week, with a zoomed in pic of my hand drawn pineapple coozie. The topic was, “Name that thing that Terri drew.” There were some super fun responses; a pineapple ring, winter scene with lights in the window, honeycomb and so on.
So, now I can reveal what it was…. a pineapple coozie! This cup and sentiment are from the Coffee To Go and Keep Calm and Drink stamp sets. My backdrop was watercolored again with Tombows, as was my cup and straw, with Wink of Stella added to my hand drawn coozie and Mod Podge Irridescent Dimensional Glue on my lid. Zoom in to see the sparkle! Designer papers by DCWV.
Finally, I’ve got a cute little tropical gift tag which is a nice accompaniment to a gifted bag of coffee or gift card. I’m using “Cup to Go” again, as I had stamped several images at once, experimenting with masking, hand drawing, etc. The flowers are masked from another TPD stamp set called Mason Jar Accessories #1. Again, I’ve colored with my Tombows and created a glitter shaker lid with my WRMK Fuse and Doodlebug Designs Lily White Sugar Coating. Burlap string, DCWV corrugated paper, washi tape, DoubleClick Skittles bubble embellishments and a Prima wood chat bubble finish it off. Even my cold summer drinks have got to have coffee in them… and coconut milk. Yum!
Thanks so much, Amy, for having me. I’ll see you again next Tuesday.
Aren’t Terri’s projects super amazing?! Love them all! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us Terri!
