Guest Designer – October 31

We’re so excited to have guestie, Kristi H back with us.

Hello, again, crafters, Kristi H. here. Happy Halloween!  I love, love, love, this holiday, and decided to make one final card for it, since my project is posting today.

Pistachio latte, anyone?

My card is a special size this time (5-1/2” x 5-1/2”), as I simply couldn’t bring myself to cut any more off this fabulous paper from the Whimsy Stamps Nevermore paper pack, and no surprise, I’ve designed a little scene.

I began with the Winter Mug from Pretty Pink Posh, and their Halloween Mug Additions dies, to create my little black cat cup.  Since I used my own cat, Little Bear, for a model, I needed longer whiskers, so I grabbed the Winter Foliage dies and cut up a pine sprig, then gave him green eyes.  Of course, that decision meant that I had to have spooky green coffee in the cup, otherwise known as a pistachio latte.  The whisker die that came with the Halloween set I used as eyebrows.   I also cut the pumpkin from the Halloween mug Additions out of green cardstock and tucked it just behind the mug on the right side.

I played around with options for steam and decided to use the dies from the Get Well Mug Additions. For added spookiness, I cut a couple of the little ghosts from the Spooky Mug Additions out of fog cardstock from Simon Says Stamp.  The earthworms/snakes dies are from the Big Halloween Cupcake set, cut from brown cardstock I had in my stash.

I dug through my stash to find a spooky sentiment, and came up with this one from the Trinity Stamps Trick or Drink stamp set, which I color coordinated to my project.  It was heat embossed using Versafine Claire Nocturne ink with clear embossing powder, and cut with one of the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Strips.  As with my previous project, I felt it needed a spider and web to seem complete. Is that a brown recluse? I used a black glaze pen on the little eyes.

Thanks to Amy, for inviting me!  Follow me on Instagram, where my handle is @kristi_created

I hope you like this project, and are inspired to make something today.  Stay spooky, my friends!
